Hello, everybody!
this week we have to choose one among three topics. Instead to talk about an interest subject as origins of English as a langue, or to talk about better blog -I could not do that because I don’t know every blog-, I will talk about my semester. This year had been a really strange year; the monkey of fire’s year leaves behind it a lot of bad moments for everyone. My case is not very different, but I would be a pessimistic man in an exaggerated way if I would say that my year was the worst year of my life.
This semester is a prove of that. After a first semester which political problems hijack a big part of my mood and energy, second semester was a good one. With its highs and lows, I could do many things what I put aside for a long time. I met with friends who I didn’t see since years, I began to play guitar in a more regular way (even I made some songs), and I had visit incredible places next to Santiago. Although political problems didn’t go out, at least this semester brought good things.
This semester is a good one because of other motive: it is the last semester with finals. Indeed, most of us finish almost totally of our courses, and this pressure is a big motivation to finish it in the best way as possible -or try to do in that way, at least-.
That’s all,

Hello,
This time I’m going to talk about a special spot: Saltos del Petrohue. I visited this place with my family in summer of 2010, when I was 15 years old. In this holiday, we went to X region to go across towns next to Llanquihue Lake and to be in Puerto Montt. I remember that I was really excited with the trip, because of I had never visiting the south of Chile. And the experience was better that my expectations.
We visited many places, most of them are very nice, but Saltos del Petrohue was the place that really attracted my attention. Saltos del Petrohue it is a natural drainage of Todos los Santos Lake, so it’s a natural waterfall. I very liked it because Saltos del Petrohue is really impressive place. I remember that when we were walking through its tracks, the nature dazzled us with their trees, their native vegetation and the little lakes; it is a spot where you may be during a full day. But that was nothing compared with the waterfall. I don’t know how I can describe my first feelings when I saw Saltos: a mix of excitement, one feeling of inferiority faced with the power of nature, and inner peace, is, perhaps, the better description. For this mix, I suggest to visit Saltos, to live the experience.
Anyways, I think that to know the place is better see it than to read a description. So I share you a photo of Saltos del Petrohue. As saying says a picture talks more than one thousand words.

Bye!

Hello!
This afternoon I have to talk about my favourite song. Actually, I don’t have a favourite song, because of I think there are a lot of great songs of different styles of music. Besides, I think songs get other meaning if they are listened in their own context, namely: records. Many times we listen to songs which attract our attention. Even, those songs appear time after time in our minds; we like them and we don't get tired of listening to the same song again and again. But when we listen to the record which the song is part of, the song can be better.
So, I prefer to talk about a record than a song: In the Court of the Crimson King by the English band King Crimson. It is a progressive rock album and it was recorded in 1969. I had heard about King Crimson many times before, but I never listened to their songs and records until two year ago. That time I listened In the Court… and I remember that I thought something as: “wow where were you all my life?”.
I like it very much because it’s a brilliant album. Their five songs are connected between them perfectly, in such a way that you can imagine a story as you listen to the record (it’s a real trip). Besides musicians who formed King Crimson are geniuses, as much creativity as skills.
I share to you “21st Century Schizoid Man”, the first song of this record (I would post the full album, but as YouTube administrators and their security policies are friends of copyright policies and great fascists, there are not a video of the full record)

Hi!
This afternoon I am going to talk about my first guitar. When I turned 13, my parents gave to me an electric guitar. I was very happy, because I wanted to learn to play guitar very much since I was 6 years old, so my dream began to achieve. My first tries  to play guitar were very funny, I had not any idea about how to play and guitar was very out of tune. Anyway I try to learn for myself watching youtube videos or visiting guitar foros or guitar websites. Once I was learning to do string bendings and I broke a string for first time (it was a terrible moment, it happened just a week  after gave it to me  jaja). In spite of that, I carried on my tries and after a while  I broke the fourth string. It was a tragicomic moment.
I think that I liked that present in that moment because of one reason. As I wrote upper, I wanted to learn to play guitar since I was 6. My father is a person who listen very different kinds of music. Chilean music, rock, electronic music, pop, ballads, cumbia, “cebolla” music, in short I listened and  I knew a lot of songs and bands when I was a child. And my first favourite band was Los Prisioneros, so I wanted to play their songs. Now, I remeber my first guitar because to learn to play guitar fills me very much. It was one of best things that could happened to me. I don’t remember my first guitar because I have any special feelings towards the instrument, after  years and when I could save the sufficent money, I sold it to a friend to buy a new guitar.
That’s all, folks!

Hello, everyone!
This night I will write about a series which I love: The Simpsons. When I was a child, after school I arrived to my house to watch The Simpsons while I had dinner. I spent a lot of time of my childhood watching The Simpsons: I have seen at least every chapter until 20th season. This series is about an American family who lives in Springfield, a city with unknown location. Marge, Homer, Lisa, Bart and Maggie are main characters, but there are chapters which other character star in. Every chapter is a whole story: begins with a random situation which ends in a different story.
I like The Simpsons because it is a brilliant series. Jokes are so funny and are well thought. In short, it is a great irony of American society. People may ask themselves for the reason of that, how we can laugh with a series that talks about other society. I think that we can laugh with it because, as USA is the empire and rules the world, its colonization in our culture is so deep that allows us to understand the series.

However, last season of The Simpsons are so boring. I don’t know why. Maybe American society have progressed towards more different forms than our society, or, its scriptwriters has become simply worse than before. Anyway, that are not contradictory reasons.
Here one of my favourite scenes of this series.

Hello, everybody!
Today I going to talk about a good friend of mine. His name is David, but people that knows him calls him Billie. I met David when we were 6 years old, in the school, and he was my classmate until 6th grade. I don’t remember how we became friends; we always joke about that. Our favourite joke is that it was due to one punch to other in the face, fact that never had happen.
In 6th grade, David decided to go to other school, Instituto Nacional. Even though we met us less than before, our friendship didn’t disappear. As our families became friends, we saw in familiar activities, activities add to meetings we agreed. Besides that, since we met, we had share many things. When we were children, we both liked spiderman and to play videogames. When we grew up and we began to listen music, we both like metal and hard rock, even we began to play musical instruments at the same time. In high school, parties and books gather us again. In short, we have share many moments and we like many things.
Today, I see to David frequently. How he is studying literature in JGM, we sharing our time spontaneously. From to tell us our problems, to have a good time, ever is a great moment if it’s a moment with him.
I'll publish an old picture of we both when my internet become faster

Hi, everybody!

This time I’m going to talk about New Year celebration 2013. In 2012, my friend Marcelo told me about the possibility to celebrate new year in Valparaiso with his family. Marcelo’s mom was working as a secretary in the Ministry of Culture and she and her family could go to the office of Ministry of Culture in Valparaiso to celebrate new year. I don’t remember the reason but finally Marcelo’s family decided not to go to Valparaiso. In spite of that, we agreed to go there anyway.

In the afternoon of December 31, we took a bus to go. The bus spend 4 hours to arrive to Valparaiso station (it was horrible!), and when we were able to get off, Marcelo and I went to around the city. When night came, we went to Plaza Sotomayor to see Fireworks. There were a lot of people: families, friend groups, couples, waiting for fireworks show. When the moment came, all people began to open champagne bottles, and to hug everybody. Then, the party began, it was a craze.

The next day, with a big hangover, we went to walk around the hill. After walking for a couple of hours, we went to eat a Chorrillana and go to the beach. We almost missed the bus to Santiago, because there were any tickets in Valparaiso neither Viña del Mar. We had to go to Quilpué to take a bus.

It was a great trip.
